Chief Adviser (CA) Dr Fakhruddin Ahmed Monday said, the construction work of Padma Bridge would begin in 2009 on completion of its ongoing preparatory works to establish a direct road-link between the south-western region and other parts of the country, reports UNB from Munshiganj.
He said this while formally opening to traffic the Sixth Bangladesh-China Friendship Bridge (Mukterpur Bridge), constructed over the Dhaleshwari at Muktarpur in Munshiganj.
