The High Court has stayed 12 cases against BNP leaders Rafiqul Islam Miah and Shah Moazzem Hossain for six months. All procedures of these cases filed for threatening the life of prime minister Sheikh Hasina have been stayed.
The High Court on Monday granted BNP standing committee member Rafiqul Islam Mia and vice chairman Shah Moazzem interim bail in nine cases related to threatening prime minister Sheikh Hasina with dire consequences.
Two more cases were filed against the top BNP leaders for threatening the prime minister with dire consequences.
A court here ordered Officer-in-Charge of Singair thana to take necessary legal steps regarding a case filed by Majed Khan on July 26 in connection with reported threats given to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina from a rally at Muktangon on July 25.
Begum Saleha Hossain, wife of former Deputy Prime Minister and BNP leader Shah Moazzem Hossain, died at her Gulshan house in the city Tuesday. She was 63.
